Jessica Sterle receives a certificate of appreciation from Judge Shaun Floerke for her monthly donations to Minnesota’s 6th District’s specialty courts. Floerke said Sterle’s donations allowed the courts to aid specialty court clients with transportation issues, attend additional training sessions and increase the use of incentives to reward progression through the programs. The Minnesota 6th District Specialty Courts’ mission is to unite judiciary and criminal justice entities, substance abuse treatment providers and the community to: increase public safety; lessen the financial impact on society; restore participants to law-abiding productivity; reduce criminalization of persons with mental illness; reduce the illicit drug use of nonviolent drug-addicted offenders; decrease the number of alcohol-related traffic deaths and injuries.
